You will meet in front of the San Lorenzo church to start of your day filled with sampling some of the typical Tuscan delicacies that we are so famous for here, learn about the local food culture and the process in which they are made all the while strolling through Florence learning little tid bits about the rich history of this enchanting city.
First take a stop to grab a cafe in a stylish bar and restaurant where you will learn a few tips about Italy's coffee culture, for example when it is appropriate to have a cappuccino and when you should ask for a cafe machiato.
Then, on your way to one Florence's best local markets, you will See how the locals shop for there daily fruits and vegetables and go upstairs to see a foodie dream of all kinds of the best Italian dishes being created, you will definitely be inspired to come back and try everything!
On our way we will wonder through the famous leather market where you will get all the insider tips on where to shop and find the best quality products at reasonable prices and most immportant...made in Italy!
At the market you will be taken around to see the fruits and vegetables in season and what typical Tuscan dishes they are used to create, then you will stop at a local vendor to taste some of the best quality meats and cheeses from Tuscany and the north of Italy, Parma.
Next you will stop and have a wine tasting accompanied by one of Tuscany's most rare and sought after products, tartuffo (truffle). Here you will learn about the difference between Chainti and Chianti Classico, Italy's appellation system and the different regions and blends that make our world famous wines. By the time your day is done you will be comfortable ordering at any wine shop or restaurant menu.
After this we will have a light lunch with typical Tuscan dishes accompanied by a wine pairing at a local Osteria where the Florentines go , then ending your meal with Tuscany's holy wine and home made cantucci bisquits.
To finish off your culinary day you will have a tantalizing chocolate or gelato tasting at one of Florence's oldest chocolate producers.
